Main technical parameters

The device consists mainly of a hood, a natural gas burner and a sample holder mounted on a suitable frame.

(1) Cover: The cover consists of a 762 mm long horizontal flue and a 457 mm long vertical flue. The flue width is 203mm and the depth is 152mm. The horizontal flue floor is made of thin steel and the rest is asbestos. The front end of the bottom plate is about 203mm, leaving a fire to the burner.

(2) Sample holder: A sample holder is mounted on the horizontal flue, and the sample holder is made of low carbon steel. The low carbon steel plate has a length of 800 mm, a width of 178 mm, and a thickness of 3 mm. Supported by a flange at 50.8 mm of the bottom plate. The specimen holder should be installed at a position of 76 mm between the front and rear ends of the vertical flue so that the hot gas flowing under the sample passes through the vertical flue.

(3) Burning furnace: There are 4 side-by-side open blast furnaces at the front end of the horizontal flue, parallel to the front end of the sample holder. The center of the flue is equidistant 31.75mm, and the center of the burning furnace should be 102mm at the bottom of the sample holder. At a distance of 13 mm from the front end of the specimen holder, natural gas and air are supplied through a common manifold.
